We Know At Least 3 Reasons
The first-generation PlayStation VR was a revolutionary product that caused quite a stir at launch. Even though its successor, the PlayStation VR2, has been on the market for more than two months, no one is talking about it. There are a million reasons why it has buried its predecessor’s reputation. But we’re not going to make it the scapegoat. Instead, let’s look at some of the factors affecting its popularity.
PlayStation VR2 Doesn’t Worth Your Money
#1. The Price
The PlayStation VR2 costs $550. That’s noticeably more than the console it powers. You might think that the luxurious peripheral comes with pre-loaded games. The trick is that not a single game is pre-installed. So if you are going to get your hands on this device, remember that this is the beginning of your expenditure. You will have to pay for games to justify your purchase.
#2. Limited Application
One such game is Horizon: Call of the Mountain. Currently, it’s being offered in a bundle with the PlayStation VR2. And if you want to experience the virtual reality world via this game, it will cost you 599.99 dollars. Nothing personal. It’s just business.
Gizchina News of the week
The studio has put a lot of effort, time, and money into this single-player game. We can praise it for hours and say the graphics and details are well thought out. We can even say that the game will last for many hours, and you will enjoy every minute. However, it is up to you to decide whether the VR we are discussing is worth your money.
There are other games you can buy and play on the PlayStation VR2. However, don’t expect a huge selection. Once again, deciding whether you want to spend $600 on this device is up to you. Honestly, we feel that the launch of this VR product has been artificially accelerated for some reason. When you look at ecology, there are not many games. So its use is objectively limited.
#3. Compatibility
Another reason why we don’t recommend the PlayStation VR2 is that it’s not backward compatible. So if you have spent a lot of money on the previous-generation product and the games that run on it, you can take it to the garage. At least you won’t be able to play them on this peripheral until the Japanese company brings an update.
Obviously, this product is not on the list of recommended products. You might agree with us or don’t. But the abovementioned three factors make it out of the competition. Maybe its successors will stand out, but taking into consideration what situation it is in now, we think it is an expensive high-technology product.
