Samsung Exynos 2300 Specs Leaked – Can It Beat Snapdragon 8 Gen 2?


Samsung has skipped the Exynos version of its flagship smartphones this year. Unlike the S22 and previous models, all the versions of the Galaxy S23 series pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. And according to many, Samsung made the right choice by not integrating Exynos 2300 into the lineup.

However, recent rumors suggest that Samsung has been working closely with Google to bring out a more powerful chip than ever before. And the chip, which Samsung and Google have presumably worked on, is the Exynos 2300. But why are we talking about the SoC again? Well, a new leak has just emerged, which gives us a hint at what to expect from the chip.

A tipster has just leaked the kernel information of the Exynos 2300 SoC. According to the leaked info, the chip features a Quadra codename and adopts a 1+4+4 core config. In other words, it comes with 4 performance cores, 4 efficiency cores, and one Cortex-X3 super core.

The main highlight of the Exynos 2300 is the Coretex-X3 super core. Apparently, this particular core features a max clock speed of 3.09GHz. And that is basically what can make the new chip compete against the current flagship SoC of Qualcomm.

What about the performance cores? Well, those will feature 2.6GHz Cortex-A715, while the Cortex-A510 cores of the Exynos 2300 will clock in at 2.1GHz.

Nonetheless, the leak also sheds light on the other aspects of the chip. Like the previous iteration, the Exynos 2300 will come with a custom-designed AMD RDNA 2 architecture. And the GPU of the chipset will be dubbed the Samsung Xclipse 930.

That said, there is a chance that Samsung might skip the 2300 naming on the new Exynos chip. Instead, the next chip of the South Korean giant might feature an Exynos 2500 model. And if that is the case, the SoC will equip a new NPU.
